Listening Blog #12
For my blog this week I chose the song "Hello" by Adele. This song has so many memories tied in with it. I remember this song was released when I was in seventh grade. I remember listening to it in my CTE Woodshop class. I also remember everyone at school whenever anyone would say hello would do it in the classic Adele voice. I think it is pretty comical that all these middle schoolers were singing this dramatic breakup song haha. I actually really enjoy this song but I have the first three lines engraved in my brain and so it brings me back to the horrible times in middle school haha. I have always really liked Adele though. She has such a distinct voice and style and her breakup songs are the best to scream in the car. I think that she really has a gift for singing and I also really enjoy her pretty simple music. I think that she does a good job of having pretty minimal music which allows her to really showcase her vocal skills. Overall, I really enjoy this song if I can manage to avoid thinking about middle school while listening to it.
I also remember the day this song came out very vividly! It was such a big deal since she hadn't come out with music for such a long time. I remember hearing it for the first time and thinking that the beginning was a little creepy, haha. The song became super popular and iconic and I think she is a queen of music.
ReplyDeleteMy mom loves Adele and would sing this song with you. I really do agree that her voice is super iconic. She definitely makes you feel slower and in a culture of pop where a ton of songs are more up beat, she helps the song become slower, and really sings through emotion. You can get lost if you listen closely.
