For my blog this week I chose the song "Sledgehammer" by Peter Gabriel. This song has a really cool vibe and I really liked the lyrics as well. The beginning was probably my favorite part as it was just kind of grooving and had a cool style to it. This song definitely had a lot of symbolism and it had interesting lyrics. It did repeat the same few lines a lot but it did have quite a few different parts that differentiated the different parts of the song. I also really enjoyed the instruments in this song. I thought that the horns and drums were both used really well and helped to keep the song upbeat and fun to listen to. I really liked Peter Gabriel's voice. I hadn't listened to him before and thought he had a really cool voice and singing style. I thought that this song definitely had an 80's feel to it which makes sense as this song came out in 1986. Overall, I enjoyed this song. It did get a little boring at times as it was pretty repetitive but I thought that it was a pretty good song overall.

    This was a really fun song to listen to and I really like the vibe it gives off. This sound is so unique and I've hardly heard any songs like this. I also think my favorite part of the song was the very beginning too. I feel like this would be played at the beginning of a movie.

    Clara! Great analysis on your blog post this week! I like the song choice you decided on! I can agree with you that my favorite part is the beginning. When i listened i definitely thought it was from the 80’s but I thought it's cool it came out in 1986. I can also agree that it did get a little boring at times because it was repetitive haha.

 Listening Blog #9      For my blog this week, I choose the song "Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain" by Willie Nelson. This is a very iconic song in the country music genre and one that I really enjoy. It is a very sad song but is surprisingly simple. It tells the story of love dying as the singer leaves his love forever. This song has a story in it that really reminds me of a movie. I feel like this song could easily be used in a breakup scene in a movie and would fit really well.
